Time:10:31 pm.
Mood: good.
Hi everyone:) I am bored, so I figured, why not update on my life? Well, I got the three hardest finals over(english, bio, history). I actually like history now. Ms. Tewell is going to be my new house advisor, and I found out that she also rides horses! So she fully supports my missing school to go to horse shows. Awesome. And I'm doing 3'6" on Ellington now, everything is much better. And there is a new hot German guy at the barn. Hmmm...he has a pretty horse. Always a good sign:)

Clarinet has been going well, I just got a scholarship to Third Street:) I got into the annual concert too! I had the most fun piece in the world. My group was this amazing little cellist named Leo, and Christian on the piano. And we might play on channel 13! whoohoo! And I just got my piece for summer chamber music, so I'm all excited about that. I hope I get a good group:D

Ooooh, I know most of you aren't that interested in classical music, but for those of you interested, these are my all time favorite pieces:

Piano Quartet in A Minor, Op. 67: I. Lento by Joaquín Turina

Schoenfield Cafe Music- Presto
Piano Trio, "Dumky", Op. 90: I. Lento-Maestoso allegro by Dvorak
Trio for Piano, Violin and Cello, Op. 11. I. Allegro Con Brio by Ludwig Beethovan(my summer piece, im playing the violin part)
Duos for Flute and Clarinet, II. Allegro risoluto by Robert Muczynski
Five Bagatelles, Op. 23A, IV. Forlana: Allegretto grazioso by Gerald Finzi
Dvorak Larghetto(my annual concert audition piece)
Piano Trio in E Minor, Op. 90, "Dumky": VI. Lento maestoso - Vivace, quasi movimento - Lento - Vivace by Dvorák
Thais: Meditation
"Blue Little Flower", Li Cang Sang, Traditional & Wu Tong, The Silk Road Ensemble & Yo-Yo Ma
Pavane, Op.50 by Gabriel Fauré
Nocturne in E Flat Major, Op.9, No.2 by Chopin
Nocturno by Max Bruch(my chamber piece w/ leo and christian)
Concertino by Weber
With Humor "The Leblanc Suite" and Ragtime "The Leblanc Suite" by Gordon Goodwin
II. Cadenza (freely) and III. Rather fast by Aaron Copland(MY HOLY GRAIL)

Other good pieces:

Peter Gunn Suite (Peter Gunn Theme) by Henry Mancini
Maple Leaf Rag- Scott Joplin
Sing, Sing, Sing, Benny Goodman
Lazy River, Benny Goodman
Let's Dance- Benny Goodman
Clarinet a La King- Benny Goodman

You should really check them out. I'll burn you a cd if you want, after finals. Really, I think people listen to the wrong classical music, so then they don't like it. But some of it is really good stuff. Support chamber music! It makes life so much more fun:D

How is everyone else doing? Glad school is almost out? I know I am...

P.S. I had fun hanging out with you guys! I haven't seen you all for so long. But next time lets do something different, it was fun once, but it isn't really my type of thing. We should go bowling or something! Shoe rentals!

Time:5:34 pm.
Mood: happy.
Lo:) I can't wait till spring break...one more day! Only one more paper! Whoopie! And it is fun, we are writing a general prologue and a story for a chacracter we make up, and it has to be in Chaucerian style:) You know iambic pentameter and all. Lol. I get way too excited over these things. But yeah, I think we should all get together and go to a concert or Blue Man Group or something. Or even just union square, i just miss you all:) I did get to go shoe shopping with Gen though, and Becca, I said hi to Corigan for you! But yeah, is anyone free over break? maybe we can all get together. Post dates! Or trips and where you are going:) So I can be all jealous. I'm going to Long Island. but it'll be fun.

I'm gonna try to get tickets for Blue Man Group and the new Julius Caesar play with Denzel Washington(!) so if anyone's interested, tell me:)

No, seriously. I love them. What could be better? Two hours of school a day, only four tests, one each day, and no homework! It is actually really fun, even the tests. I think I've gone crazy. I actually enjoyed taking the tests. And the two hardest are over, I only have math and science left.

For english, there were three parts of the test:

-quote identification and explanation(Bible, Odyssey and The Natural)
-I.D. explanation(Bible, Odyssey and The Natural)
-first page of two papers(Bible, Odyssey and The Natural)
topics: Influential women and how they had power over the men. ex. of good and bad women.
Mass Mentality: How their decisions are different from when they are alone

See! It was actually interesting, and we had two hours to do that. So yeah.

Oh, and I just realized why people make such a big deal over Buffy the Vampire Slayer(or Angel now), I've only seen it twice, but that guy Angel/Angelus is hot! What better than a tall, dark and handsome man who just happens to have an inner demon that comes out once in a while?

http://www.wolfpackproductions.com/BTVS/boreanaz5.jpg Lol, smokin' right? Even better than the wet shirt scene in Pride and Prejudice...almost. No one can beat Mr. Darcy.

P.S. if anyone wants to go, there is this Dalton party thing, i wasn't planning on going, but it is on Thursday night, tickets are on me, Gabbi is going supposedly, and Lily(blech) but yeah, if anyone is interested, call me. On my new cell phone! Yay! same #.

And there is a Motley Crue concert coming up. w00tash!

Subject:Merry Christmas/Happy Belated Hanukka(spelling?)
Time:7:58 pm.
Mood: good.
Hi everyone! Happy holidays! I hope you all got lots of expensive presents, and weren't forced to entertain too many relatives. Unless you hate getting presents, and love entertaining relatives. In that case, I am gravely sorry and offer my sincere apologies:P

I got some good presents...only thing was they were pretty much all for my horse. Oh well. He was the ultimate present, all by himself. He jumped four feet! Wedrich said he cleared it by 6 inches, and he thinks he will be able to jump much higher than we thought he would. Whoopie! Oh, and Bec, I got to ride Mischief for Nancy! He is the cutest pony on earth(other than Sandy and Sailor *too cute, must post pics*).

Anyway...people at school are weird. They send Christmas cards. Gosh, who does that anymore, other than stupid relatives with no life? I guess some people aren't as lazy as me. No, I'm not lazy! I just don't see the point in it, all it does it add to the clutter in my house, and waste paper. Phone calls, anyone? Ah, I'm being Scrooge-like again. Damn. Bad Meagan.

Anyway, isn't this a beautiful dress? -> http://www.antiquedress.com/item9345.htm

*dies* only I'd look bad in it...but it would sure look good in my closet:) $2000 later... lol. That is too much to spend on clothing. Must...buy...baker...horse...blankets...and a Hermes saddle...my holy grail

Everyone should see Pride and Prejudice, the one with Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth(so handsome, esp. in his bathtub:). No, but it is really good. Does anyone want to hang out over break? We should all get together...I miss you guys a lot. I feel really out of touch, which all my fault because I'm never online! Jeez, how unsocial can I get. I guess it is mainly because whenever I go online, there are other people that I don;t want to talk to, like some people from my barn who keep inviting me to their bat mitzvahs. God, I had enough of those at VCS! I liked them, but still...that was because you guys were there:D And that was the "party scene" lol.

So yeah! Someone call me. Or not, because there is nothing I hate more than talking on the phone, no matter how much I like the person on the other end. I have no idea why, I just prefer talking to people in person, or online.I know! Here is my email at school, which I check obsessively: Meagan_Callahan@dalton.org

So yeah, bye then:)

Subject:Thanksgiving...
Time:2:23 pm.
Mood: calm.
I had a really nice thanksgiving...much better than I thought it would be. It was set up to be bad, but turned out well. The entire family from my mom's side was there. They are really weird, but I love them anyway. I had fun, and some people I used to hate don't bother me anymore. yay! Here is my assesment of my relatives:

Kevin- my uncle, really interesting, important guy at world bank, overly energetic, self-centered but nice. Bordering on crazy: he jumped into a shark pit and tried to catch one w/ bare hands. Has good life insurence.

Claudia(also known as Dia)- really nice, probably my favorite aunt. Really into nature and spiritual stuff, thinks she is a witch, is an architect, pretty cool.

Cynthia- my aunt, the odd duck. many problems, kind of difficult, when I was little, I would hide under the bed whenever she came into the room. She likes to embarrass people because she thinks it makes her look outgoing and funny.

Jackie- my aunt, 42 years old, still goes to Webster Hall. Really nice, used to ride and be the manager of my barn, is obsessed w/ working out. Great fun, though.

Maria- Kevin's new fiance, from Peru, really nice, overly energetic, opposite of his old wife, Sally. Has really nice kids. Not sure if she really loves him.

Katie- cousin(kevin's daughter), in second year of Med school, really nice, boyfriend named Austin who coaches a team that playes against Dalton. Gave me all of her old jeans and cords that fit me perfectly, yay!

Jackie- cousin(kevin's daughter), really nice, great artist, just graduated from college, not sure what to do now. Gave me a bunch of nice hand-me-downs too.

Claudia- my grandma, senile, falls asleep as soon as she sits down, racist, hates red heads, likes to tell all singles to get married because they are getting old, even when it is my 9 year old cousin.

Claudia- my cousin(Cynthie's daugher)- in seventh or eighth grade, I used to hate her, but that was 5 years ago. Now she is really nice. Some problems, kind of laid back, esp around her mom. Lives in Colorado.

Michael- my cousin(Cynthie's son)- 15, used to be hyperactive, but was put on Ritilin. Got into honors program, but didn't go because it was not cool. Pot head, but I love him anyway. He is constantly embarrassed by his mom. "He is so handsome, all of the girls drool over him. He is really near-sighted, and won't wear glasses so he just can't see them" and "he is pure muscle, everyone feel his abs(shot of him cringing and sinking in his chair). He is 190 pounds of pure muscle!" Poor guy, esp since those are great exaggerations.

David- Cythie's husband. Pretty nice guy. very calm, he and claudia counteract the hyperness of Mike and Cynthie.

Jeff- Dia's husband. exact opposite. Dull.

Gabe- my favorite cousin, Dia's son, 9 years old, great imagination, can talk about politics, literature and philosophy, and still be obsessed w/ playstation. He is a little genius.

That is my family! Yay i love them.

So how was everybody's holiday? I think we should all hang out sometime soon...I miss you all.

Guys might not want to read this....It is basically a rant about hot guys that get overlooked...

Alright, I've had it with ninth grade boys. (not the ones from VCS, they are special) The ones at Dalton are sweet and all, but eventually you get sick of them constantly making fart jokes and trying to get you to laugh by poking you. I thought by highschool they would get over it. Not that all of the girls are much better. I've only found five that can continue a conversation with out whispering Oh My God everytime Bobby passes. I mean come on, yes he is hot. Very hot, but he has nothing but a body. They don't flip everytime the winner of the Science Oympiad passes...no, because he doesn't have perfect hair and a six pack. Anyway...back on topic, I dunno...what I don't see is how they can overlook all of the good guys. Do they not have eyes? There are so many people in the school, why do Bobby and Brandon get all of the attention. Oh well, more for me. Why ignore the wrestling team captain because his name isn't Bobby and he is 5'9" as opposed to 6'3". And he has a brain, so you can *talk* to him, God forbid. Sorry, but I just don't get it. I was watching a Chris Rock dvd(oh so hilarious), and he made a point that I actually agree with. A girl/woman sees a man that she likes. Her mind says I want *him*. Not someone *like* him, seeing that he is married, no, no, you want HIM. So you overlook every other guy because he is not HIM, even if he is better, he is not HIM, so he just won't do. That makes loads of sense, doesn't it? Not. Oh well, more for me. If you thing about it, most of the Sex Gods in the media today weren't the hot jocks. They were somewhat overlooked. Look at Arnold Shwartzenegger, he was just some skinny Austrian guy. And Colin Firth...He thinks he is ordinary!? Jeez, I would shag him in a second! I love you sexy Mr. Darcy. And Eminem(who looks very similar to the wrestling captain*grins*) was completely overlooked, basically all of these handsome guys weren't obvious at first. So why not give someone other than a football player a chance? For example, the guys in orchestra. No one notices them. But why not? They are talanted musicians, lol sensative souls. Mmmm...the cello section! For god's sake! There is the guy who has the best abs in the world, the new guy from California, the guy with the awesome Beatle-esque hair, jeeze. And sitting in the violin section is the school president! He is so cute in a nerdy way. Whatever, this rant is over.

Ok. Colin Firth. My new crush. Damn him. Unlike Hugh Grant(sexy, but a bit slimy), he is the gentleman, the man of repressed passion. Sometimes. Except for in Girl with a pearl earring....when he pierces Scarlett's ear...Or in Bridget Jones's Diary(gotta love it, anyone want to see the sequal with me?) He has the best line:

Bridget: Wait a sec...Nice boys don't kiss like that.
Mark Darcy: Oh yes they fucking do.

I'm sorry. But if anyone has seen the movie, and finds some one like him, introduce me immmediatly. Hey Gen,if you do, then you can have Tommy. :P

Subject:The Election
Time:5:16 pm.
Mood: discontent.
I am so disgusted that Bush won. Not that it came as a huge suprise, but it is still really horrifying how many idiots(that is the best of them, you also have to count the greedy, rich and power hungry) voted for Bush. They all deserve whatever happens to them because of Bush getting elected, it is just too bad that the rest of us have to suffer as well. You might say that we, people in the middle and upper class, won’t be suffering, but yes, we will. Not just because of the draft, tax cuts, Patriot act etc., but because we have hearts and actually care that other people are suffering and about improvement of our country. I, for one, don’t only care about my self, and I feel confident in my assumption that others here feel the same way.
The sad thing is, Bush being elected won’t help many of the people who voted for him. The majority of people aren’t super rich or horrible and heartless, therefore they are just uneducated and ignorent. I think that is almost as bad as the former, but thinking that won’t make people go out and educate themselves. I think it would be interesting if there was some sort of test, going over the basic ideas of each candidate’s opinions, and although you could still vote if you didn’t pass(so as not to infringe on their rights), you would get fined a relatively small(but enough to be an incentive) amount of money. The test would be really easy to pass, as long as you had a basic idea of what their opinions are and how they would affect you. This would give incentive to people to know what is going on before they vote. Even if they still voted for Bush, or someone like him, they at least would be going in with an idea why. I think that if people really did know what was going on, Bush wouldn’t have won. But that is just my opinion. Of course the republicans in power now would never allow it. They want blind republican followers. I know this isn’t very well thought out, but I thought I would post it anyway...any opinions?

And did anyone see Kerry's concession speech? I know it was during school, but my teacher, and like everyone else, let our class go up to the library and watch it. It made me so mad. Kerry and Edwards are so obviously better candidates, Bush should have been up there making that speech. I will be in a deep depression until a suitable-preferably democratic- candidate gets elected(bonus points if Bush gets impeached). I might not be in a deep depression, but you will definitely have a very, very unhappy Meagan until this happens.

Any comments? You are an opinionated bunch, and I'd love to hear your thoughts:P

Subject:I'm back!
Time:11:44 am.
Mood: contemplative.
Hello everybody! I know I haven't posted for a while, It's been pretty busy

Summary of updates
-I'm probably going to buy a horse; his name is Aladdin
-I like school. Alot.
-I am now a master chef...or aspiring to be:)
-I miss all of the VCSers
I really like Dalton. It is fun...pretty hard, but very interesting. And there are a lot of people in my grade, so I like, don't have to see anyone I uh...don't like *coughlilycough* Everyone there is really nice, but no one compares to the people at VCS:) They have soooo many clubs! I already joined too many, but it is so hard to choose. I am now a member of the Harry Potter Club, the Community Service Club, the Classic Rock Club, the Dalton Democrats, the Culinary Club, the Fine Arts Club and Readers, Inc. But my favorite is the Dalton Democrats:) They have these huge ongoing online debates with the Republican Club(ugh) that are really interesting, we are going to have a fake presidential debate, in which the candidates will be played by the club heads(So Alec will be Kerry, Lev will be Edwards) I've already learned so much from just reading the debates, they are great because everyone writing really knows what they are talking about, and they back up their facts with sources and have really good opinions. I might post some of them eventually.

I'm in the process of buying this horse, Aladdin, we just need to get his x-rays back(from the vet check). He is tough to ride, but not in a crazy bucking bronco way, just sensative and easily upset way. I don't like crazy horses...who has time to be lying around with broken limbs all of the time? Not I. But he is cool. Eight years old, off the race track(he was too big to be a race horse), 17.2 hands(the biggest living horse in the world is 18.2 hands, so he is pretty big), bay, jumps 3'6" to 4', yeah, he is pretty much the best horse we can get for what we can pay.

I'm going to take cooking lessons...don't know what day of the week, but I really want to be able to cook more than mac and cheese. I've been inspired by joining the culinary club. It is really cool, we met at the head's house and made pizza, then ate it. lol, duh. But yeah...lol, hannah! Charlie! Yay! *ignore that*

Has everyone been watching the debates? I think Kerry kicked Bush's ass everytime. The thing I worry about is that the people who can't understand Kerry's ideas will just vote for Bush because he is more entertaining to watch, with his incredable inadequacy, idiotic facial expressions and moronic comments. Yes, I am saying anyone, who isn't a mass murderer, billionair, terrorist or just plain evil person, who votes for bush is dumb. No, dumb to the 1000th power times a billion. As for Cheney, here are a couple words from the Dalton forum that sum up my opinion of him:

Dumb Republican: Cheney rocks! He whooped Edwards' ass with cold hard facts.
Smart Democrat: The only thing cold and hard about Cheney was his heart. His facts were figments of his imagination, blatently ignoring the happenings of the real world.

Oh! The Dalton Dems are holding a 'Canvassing for Kerry' trip! yay! we are going to Pensylavania to try to help get votes for Kerry. It should be fun.

Um yeah. Oh! My english teacher is the coolest! He used to be a comedian/magician(he worked w/ eddie murphy like 30 years ago), and then a college proffesor, now a dalton teacher. He is really funny. He looks like the abominable snow man. He has white hair and is 6'6". lol, fun class. But he grades really harshly. We've written two papers so far, and the highest grade anyone has gotten was a B. And I read some of the papers, and they were really good. We've read The Natural, and now are reading the Odyssey. The Robert Fagles translation.

Oh! I've come up with a cast for Harry Potter from people at school! Here goes...I'll add pictures eventually.

Harry Potter- Alex
Ron Weasly- Tommy
Hermioney Granger- Zoe O.
Neville Longbottom- Charlie
Dean Thoman- Bertram
Seamus Finnigan- Conner
Ginny Weasley- Brianna
Luna Lovegood- Lydia
Draco Malfoy- Max
Goyle-Jack
Crabbe-Julian
Victor Krum- Esti
Oliver Wood- Ralph
Marcus Flint- David
Fred and George- Renny(if he had red hair and had a twin)
Parvati Patil- Dipti
Padma Patil- Natasha
Pansy Parkinson-Lily S. (heehee)
Cho Chang-Jen
Fleur Delacour-Zoe L.
Cedric Diggory- Brandon(aka Duck)
Percy Weasly- Mitchell
Hagrid- The drama teacher, don't know his name
Dumbledor- Mr. Bender
Mcgonagle- Ms. Tewell
Flitwick- One of the Bio teachers, don't know his name
Sprout- Ms. Loell
Sirious Black- Mr. Slick(this is how i pictured Sirius black before the movie)
Snape- can't find anyone...fine, since Lily is extra special, she can be Snape too. lol
Lupin- Mr. Lester
Tonks- Liz
Ludo Bagman- Milo
Gilderoy Lockhart- Jesse
Trelawney- Ms. Brotman
Lucius Malfoy- Tech teacher
Mad Eye Moody- Mr. Sokol

Yeah, well I hope everyone is having fun, and living life to its fullest:) And go see Farenheight 9/11. It is good. And encourage everyone to see it before the election! November 2nd! Save the date!

What Classic Pin-Up Are You?
brought to you by Quizilla

hehe *grins*

Anyway I rode in the Hampton Classic, but on the owner's horse, Akita instead of Calla. Patrice finally went crazy and got kicked out of the barn. She has 30 days notice. I love Calla, and will miss her. I wish I could buy her, I feel so bad for her, her owner is terrible. But I think I'll be buying a horse soon. Wedrich said he would find me a really good one, and said that soon he thinks I'll be moving up to jumping four feet. Yay! I was doing 3'3" on Calla, so i guess that isn't too much higher...but it'll be a big turning point. It has been my goal for a while:)

Subject:The Golden Age of Burlesque
Time:6:52 pm.
*sings* Happy Birthday to me....happy birthday to me...

yay! my birthday was yesterday, the 25th! whoopie! I got a game cube! yay!

I haven't posted for a while, so I have a lot to write about.
I got back from camp a little while ago, it was really fun. I lost 10 pounds! I had the roomate from hell though. She kept hitting people with crops and dressage whips, and she put bugspray on my pillow. Bitch. But everyone else was really nice. Two of the kids are going to dalton next year. Blair and Tess(they are sisters) are gonna be in my grade. And I met three kids from Horace Mann. They are cool, really nice. No guys at camp this year though:(

Everyone should watch Star Trek, but the original one, it is so much better than the new version and the movies. Spock is my favorite character. He is cool. And I don't know why I have this strange interest in Marilyn Manson. I find his weirdness intriguing. No but really, he seems like an interesting guy.

The Golden age of Burlesque! so thats where he got the name the Golden Age of Grotesque. I like the whole idea of burlesque. I've discovered a new layer of myself:P

AHHH! I feel so bad for Sal! He was riding this horse, who bucked him off and now his leg is smashed. Both of the bones in his lower leg are broken clean through, and he had to go through 6 hours of surgery to put it back in place, and now there is a metal pole in his leg, holding it all together. And Wedrich was riding a horse who fell over a jump and skidded and fell on Wedrichs knees so now his legs are messed up too. Someone always gets hurt before my birthday! Why?! last year, i broke my ankle right before my birthday, the year before I broke my arm, the day before my birthday, and the year before i sprained both of my ankles. This year i didn't get hurt*knock on wood* but two other people did instead.

:(

Well, gotta run,

-Meagan

Time:8:22 pm.
I am so sick of bitchy people. Just because you hate someone doesn't mean you have to tell them, especially if you can just ignore them because you don't go to school with them anymore. It is summer, in case you haven't noticed, and for VCS people, you never have to see any of your former classmates again if you don't want to. What is the point of making them feel like crap? To make yourself feel better? Get some hobbys, because making yourself happy by hurting others is not a healthy way to be.

On a lighter note...I'm in music camp! Yay! It is a love-hate relationship though. I am so stressed about it that I can't eat in the morning, or else I get sick. But I love playing chamber music. I have a good group, but the cellist is having some problems. I like my part, and there are some hard parts, but I have this weekend to work on them. The violinist is good. I feel special because I am in his group even though he has been in the program since he was five, and he is fifteen. His name is Brandon, the only thing is that we sometimes don't get the timing of our parts right, so now I have to spend my precious hour of individual practice with him. The violin and clarinet trade the melody so we need to be "in sync", or at least that is what Mary Jo said. So now our parts are pretty much perfect. But the cellist, Eli, is having a terrible time. He never counts the rests and changes tempos so he gets lost and stops playing. Brandon and I continue, hoping he will try to find his place and continue. But no, he just gives up, puts his bow down and announces that he is lost. So much for chamber music. He has never played chamber music before, and he doesn't even listen to our parts. Sometimes he gets ahead but doen't even realize it, because is isn't even paying any attention to us. He has to realize we are all playing together, we are playing with him, not accompanying him.

Ahhh! I sometimes wish I played violin or cello, because I love how string instruments sound together. Lile, who was is my group on the second rotation, and Christine who was in my last chamber group, both get to play the Dumky. Damn them. And I'll never get to play it if I don't learn piano, cello or violin. Christine is the violinist, Lila is the pianist and Josh is the cellist. It sounds great. I personally think Josh is too old to be in the program, He and Brandon have been in it forever. Brandon is fifteen, which is getting a bit old, and Josh is 17 so he should really move on to Kinhaven. He did go to MPM though.

As for a hot guy update...well there isn't anyone fantastic. But Justin, one of the couselors is pretty hot. And he plays piano. Umm, Phil is another counselor, he is *sort of* cute, and playes Saxaphone, Piano and Guitar. Umm, oh! Christine's brother Jimmy is hot. He won the piano championship for all tenth graders in the city. And she won the seventh grade championship for piano. Yes, she plays violin and piano.

Is everyone having a nice summer? I hope so:) So yeah, off to practicing clarinet....Camp starts again on Tuesday. It is really intense, my mouth muscles really hurt. Yeah it is a long day 8:30 to 5:00.

My schedule:

Meeting(room changes, attendence)
Individual Practice(Time to practice alone, and you can have a teacher if you need it)
Coaching(Long practice with your group and a coach)
Improvisation or Practice Workshop(We either all improvise together, and play out different emotions, or we work on practicing skills and sight reading)
Meeting(attendence, room changes)
Lunch/Pool(as in the game)/Park/Basketball/Soccer(all in all, freetime)
Coaching(same as before, but we switch coaches)
Music Theory/Masterclass(We either learn music theory, history, or we practice out piece in front of everyone and get it critiqued by the directors)

And next week we have two performances. One in this grave yard thing, and the other in the auditiorium.
Hannah is working at Third Street, yay! but I haven't seen her yet.

Hannah(if you are reading this): What room are you in? My individual practice room is usually 3N, and my coaching room is 2G. Come say hi if you can!

Bye!

Subject:I'm back!
Time:7:42 pm.
I just got back from Aspen. It was really boring. The only good part was going hiking, which I really enjoy. My mom and I hiked up Ajax mountain, and then over the mountain after that. All in my chucks, which have no support and I could feel all of the rocks through the soles. But it was fun anyway. I was so sore, it was all steep mountain, and I kept almost slipping off the cliff, because there were lots of slippery little rocks and sand. And there was snow at the top! but it was melty and made it even more slippery. It took us like four hours, and we were going as fast as we could. And it is hard to breath up there, because the air is so thin. I could barely walk the next day.

Oh! I reread the fifth harry potter book, and the Weasley twins are by far my favorite characters, overall. Here is why(yes, I contemplated this on the airplane, which in all was 5 1/2 hours. two flights, a bus and a car. yuck. And I always get put through the "special" security because I guess I look especially threatening. I am definitly terrorist material.) Anyway, on to why I like(no, love) the twins(a mixture of the movie and the book.

- They are redheads
- They are tall
- They are funny
- They are really smart
- They play pranks and get into trouble, but all of it is good natured and not at the expense of others.
- They are twins
- They are hot
- They know what they want in life(their joke shop)
- They are wizards!
- They are brave(the only ones who are brave enough to stand up to Umbridge, fifth book)
- They care about their family, and are proud of it.
- They beat up Malfoy
- They are athletic( Beaters)
And much more:) And now on to why the actors are cool....no, jkjk

But just a couple quick facts about the real people. They each have an adorable dog, they are tall, they like Queen.

This entry was devoted to the twins, but I still love Rupert, Sean and Dan.

So anyway, about Aspen, my dad did a lot of wine seminars there. I went to one and found it extreamly boring, but everyone else loved it, and that is what is important, because they pay him, and he pays for my horseback riding. So yeah, its all good. But I wasn't allowed in the tasting tent, because I'm not of age. Not that I didn't get enough wine. There were all these boring parties, with all of these old men, and one of them though it was funny to make this joke about how I was a bit young for my dad, and then go, oh! you're his daughter. Ugh. That is just wrong on so many levels, it is not funny.
And I love wine, but I like a bit with dinner, not endless glasses of it alone without food. All of the grown-ups thought they were like giving me a big treat by giving me wine. So every adult I met always shoved wine at me. I was the one who had to start saying no so I didn't have too much. I mean, it is one this to get a little drunk with friends, but with all the adults around? No thanks. But my parent's secretary, Cary-Anne was there, and she is really nice. She also shoved wine at me, but thats ok. Its not like I really mind. I forgive her because she brought her boyfriend. Well, I don't really have to explain that. I'm sure you all know what I'm thinking.

Anyway, if anyone wants to hang out, I'll be free until Chamber music camp. and then I'm free for a day, then I'm going to Oregon, not sure why, and then I'm free and then I go to horse camp, and then my dad wants me to go to South Africa, but that might be too much traveling for me. Plus, I want to go to Germany, not South Africa. At least, for now. Oh yeah, and it is like a 18 hour plane ride. Not a plus.

Yay! Can't wait till camp! I get to ride four hours a day, and I can get like any horse I want. I got in good with the owners because none of the other kids knew dressage and thought it was boring, when it is really the foundation of a strong rider, and you cant really get good without knowing it. And I fell in love with this horse that everyone else didn't like, and did pretty well on him, so they were happy about that. People said he was a maniac, but he wasn't, the people who had been riding him before were just exaggerating to make themselves seem like better riders. He was a perfectly sweet, safe and sane horse. And his name is Cookie.
And the people there are cool. There are mostly girls, but when there are guys...Well, the guys who have been there have been very nice looking:) Last time, I didn't like any of the campers, but there was this guy that helped out around the barn, and did night-time checks of the dorms(!), he was pretty hot. He looked like Harry Potter sort of, you know messy black hair and glasses, but he was taller and a bit lankyer, and he was 16. I hope he is back this year.

The other great this about camp is you geet so much more muscle, you lose a lot of weight. Seriously, it is the fittest I had ever been. Cause you are working all day long, and then the food is gross and half of it makes you sick, so you have to stick to salads and corn. And my counselor decided to drag us out early in the morning and take us out and make us run the cross country course(for horses) and jump the jumps. It was so lame, I tripped so much, and there was this one jump that I'd jump but I'd always land on my face in the mud after wards. And we get to play tackle football with no rules. Everyone should go to this camp, it is really fun. I'm going for three weeks regular camp and then eventing week.

Sorry, I know this is a really long post, I just have been away for a while, and needed to get this off my chest.

Time:11:39 pm.
Mood: infuriated.
I just read about the Abu Ghraib cases. I mean, I knew about them before, but I didn't know the details. It is amazing how much info you can get off the internet when you put your mind to it. I was absolutly horrified at what I found. The Americans at Abu Ghraib(a prison) were torturing and humiliating the captives daily. They did all sorts of terrible, cruel things such as taking the phosphoric acid out of the lamps and pouring it all over the prisoners. And that was by far not the worst. And meanwhile the person running the thing was telling everyone that the prisoners were happy, because the conditions were so much better than where they had come from. I also saw pictures, and I really wish I hadn't. It was horrible. Blood, Burning, attack dogs....talk about scarring.

Anyway, as Dumbledore said, "Light can be found even in the darkest of times, if only you remember to turn on the lights" Well said.

I found this short article, starring the Phelps twins*grins* and I found it to be quite touching. See, there are still good people out there.

Time:7:57 pm.
Mood: contemplative.
I can not belive that I have finally graduated from VCS! I am pretty happy. I will miss going to school with some people, but I'll be keeping in touch with them anyway. And I'm looking forward to Dalton. Meanwhile...I have been working on my book, and reading/watching Harry Potter. I'm almost done with the fourth book, this is my third time reading it. I greatly admire J.K. Rowling. I guess i like it so much, because it is nice to get lost in a world that is so different. I really want to go to Hogwarts next year. Too bad there is no such thing as magic. I want to believe in it, but I haven't seen any proof:( Anyway, I have taken some random quiz like things...some about Harry Potter, which are the ones I'm posting:) I took some of them more than once, just to see the results. I find them slightly amusing:)
